The artist
Ingrid is a retired airline flight attendant who has painted all her life. In 1990, after years of working with larger oil paintings, she decided to try something “really small.”
She found the 2 × 2 inch format both exciting and satisfying. Since then, miniature painting has become a life-long practice shaped by patience, concentration and a love of detail.
Ingrid works in mixed media. Watercolour creates the soft, subtle washes; acrylic adds the final touch of vibrant, opaque colour.
Her work has been collected by corporations and private collectors, and shown in galleries and exhibitions across Canada and the United States.
